BIMM University and UCFB announce partnership to expand opportunities in sport and football higher education
BIMM University and University Campus of Football Business (UCFB) have announced a long-term partnership, expanding opportunities for students across sport, football, business and the creative industries.
The partnership will see UCFB become a college of BIMM University, bringing together two specialist institutions with a shared commitment to career-focused education and strong industry connections.
Students will continue to study at UCFB’s established campuses in Wembley and Manchester, benefiting from degrees awarded by BIMM University. The partnership covers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in football business, sports management, coaching, performance analysis, sports psychology, journalism, broadcasting and related disciplines.
With more than 2,400 students currently studying at UCFB, the agreement provides a foundation for its continued development. It also creates opportunities to develop new programmes, including potential provision in sports science, health and performance.
Connecting sport and the creative industries
The partnership builds on BIMM University’s approach to industry-led education, extending its specialist provision into sport and football.
Both institutions place practical experience and industry engagement at the centre of their teaching. Bringing their expertise together will create opportunities for collaboration across sport, business, music, media, technology and live entertainment, reflecting the connections between these sectors.
Olivier Robert-Murphy, CEO and Vice-Chancellor of BIMM University, said:
“Welcoming UCFB into BIMM University is a significant milestone in our ambition to build a truly distinctive university for the creative, cultural and entertainment industries.
Football is far more than a sport. It is one of the world’s most powerful cultural and entertainment phenomena, bringing together business, music, media, technology and live experiences on a global scale.
By bringing together the expertise and industry connections of BIMM University and UCFB, we have an extraordinary opportunity to break down traditional boundaries between disciplines, create new pathways into employment and prepare students for careers in industries that are increasingly interconnected.
This partnership represents an exciting new chapter for both institutions, and I look forward to what we can achieve together.”
Brendan Flood, Chief Executive Officer of UCFB, said:
“Becoming a college of BIMM University marks an important next chapter for UCFB. We share a commitment to specialist education that connects academic learning with the skills and experience students need to build their careers.
“This partnership provides a foundation for UCFB’s continued development, building on our industry relationships and the specialist learning experience we offer in Wembley and Manchester.”
As a college of BIMM University, UCFB will bring its specialist knowledge and industry connections to the wider university community, supported by the University’s academic governance and quality assurance arrangements.
Further information about the transition, including degree-awarding arrangements, will be shared directly with students, applicants, staff and partners in due course.
