Performers College steals the show at Move It 2026

23 March, 2026

Students and staff from Performers College, including Northern Ballet School, came together this weekend to represent the university at the annual Move It Show. Taking place at ExCeL London, the event is the largest dance convention in the UK and is in its 21st year.

Supported by the Production team, students collaborated with a highly skilled group of industry professionals—ranging from choreographers to musical and artistic directors—to present an exciting and diverse programme of musical theatre and dance. Performances were showcased across both the main stage and the dedicated showcase stage.

In addition, the team connected with thousands of aspiring performers at the exhibition stands, where ambassadors and staff were available to share insights and answer questions about everything Performers College has to offer.

On Day 1, audiences were treated to two main stage performances, including Where Have You Been? choreographed by Billy Roy Sawyer and Devon Young, and Northern Ballet School’s Resonance by Ryan Upton. Over on the Showcase Stage, six amazing singers performed Those Who Dream Directed by Kieran Jae, incorporating A Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman.

Saturday brought two showcase stage performances, Noir choreographed by Adam Scown, and Mama Who Bore Me by James Squared. Saturday also saw Emma Rogers and Dougie Mills’ piece The Drop take the Main Stage.

First Year Birmingham student Alfie Sanderson reflected on his part in Adam Scown’s Noir:

“It feels surreal – being in my first year I never thought I’d be able to come and represent Performers College this year at Move It, so its just an absolute dream come true. I’m so grateful to all the choreographers, and everyone at Performers who allowed me to have this opportunity. It feels amazing!”

Closing out the weekend, Sunday featured four performances – on the showcase stage our students performed No One Mourns The Wicked choreographed by Kieran Jae with Samantha Hills, In Pieces by Josh Baker and MD James Murrum, and Northern Ballet School performed Big Band choreographed by Aimee Azari and Andrew Margerison. Our Main stage finale was In The Air choreographed by Keely East and Ethan Brenchley.

Campus Dean and Choreographer of The Drop Emma Rogers added:

“Having the opportunity for our students to perform across the weekend is a real enrichment to their training. These performances not only give them invaluable experience, but will also inspire the future students of Performers College to follow in their footsteps.”

Performers College congratulates every student, choreographer and staff member who took part in this weekend, and above all thanks each and every attendee that visited our stand. Bring on 2027!
