Scholarship Application Submission Guide
The below will help you submit the best application possible when applying for a scholarship at BIMM University.

Personal Statement
The personal statement has a maximum of 440 words that can be submitted. You can draft the personal statement in a word document and paste it into your application form.
Your chosen course
Consider the course and subject area you have applied to study in and read the guidelines below on what to submit:
- 3-5minute-long audio recording or video recording of you playing your instrument/singing.
- It should demonstrate your skill, talent, and individuality when performing your chosen song/s.
- Songwriting submissions must be an original composition.
- Popular Music Performance can be a cover of a track.
- 3-5 minute-long audio recording demonstrating the quality of your production, arranging and mixing.
- Include screenshots or screen recordings of your workflow within your chosen DAW.
- The track must be programmed and mixed by yourself. You are not expected to have played all the instruments recorded.
This is a chance to present your passion through any projects, business/event plans, publications, or work experience you have undertaken that is relevant to the subject area of your chosen BIMM Music course. You can demonstrate your work through a variety of mediums such as a video, PowerPoint presentation, an essay with references to materials evidencing your work (promo materials, digital activity, articles, blogs, zines, social media links etc).
If you don’t already have any work examples from events or projects you have worked on, you can submit a 3-minute video or audio recording to answer one of the following questions:
- What marketing campaigns or pieces of content have captured your attention recently and why?
- Which entrepreneurs in the music industry inspire you? Do you have a business idea you’d like to work on during your study?
- Is there an event in industry that you have not worked on, but would like to run? What aspects of the event would you want to work on most, and why?
- 6-minute long showreel, video or self-tape performance to include:
- 2-minute solo dance submission, you can choose any style of dance which best showcases your skills and ability.
- 90-second contemporary monologue. Please note that your monologue must not be from a film, musical or Shakespeare play.
- 2-minute solo song that you are familiar with and sits within your vocal range.
Two contemporary monologues that are 2-minutes long each. Please note that your monologue must not be from a film, musical or Shakespeare play.
3-5-minute long showreel that collates any short films, video content, stills or scriptwriting.

You can demonstrate your work through a variety of mediums such as a video, PowerPoint presentation, an essay with references to materials evidencing your work (promo materials, digital activity, social media links, articles, blogs, etc).
If you don’t have any work examples from events or projects you have worked on, you can submit a 3-minute video or audio recording to answer one of the following questions.
- What marketing campaigns for a series or film has grabbed your attention recently and why?
- What causes or challenges are you passionate about? If you could produce a documentary to raise awareness, how would you go about it?
- In an ideal world, 4 years from now, how would you be using your degree in real world creative projects?
Showreels, visual portfolio (videos/imagery), set designs, make-up designs, inspo boards.
Showreels (Gameplay, environment flythroughs, or character 360’s), or screen grabbed videos (working in engine or 3D packages including models, and/or materials or walking through games mechanics).
Prepare your work and add the link/s to your application form.
Recordings using smart phones/tablets and laptops are suitable as along as the video/audio quality is clear.
How to upload links
Please upload your work to YouTube, Google or One Drive, Soundcloud, Bandcamp or Dropbox and label it with the following format (Full Name, Future Talent Scholarship, then File 1, File2, File3, etc – depending on how many items you are sending). Then, add the link/s to the Future Talent Scholarship Application form.
